In 2008, a few families from Finchley opened the doors of Morasha in response to the shortage of Jewish primary school places in North West London.
Now, we have our 4th intake, bringing us to 78 pupils, not to mention an already oversubscribed class for Reception 2012. Morasha is growing fast thanks to the support of the community.
Our school has also built a formidable reputation for both secular and Jewish studies, achieving a very impressive Ofsted assessment in 2009.
The founding families continue to lead the development and vision of our school, now acting as the core of the school governing body.
Our school is a vibrant, inclusive, modern-orthodox Jewish primary school committed to Torah values, Ivrit and fostering a strong positive attitude towards Israel. We work in partnership with families and the community to develop pupils to become responsible, committed members of the Jewish community and society at large. In an integrated environment of both secular and Jewish academic excellence, our school nurtures and encourages all of its pupils to achieve their full potential and become tolerant and respectful global citizens. The word ‘Morasha’ means legacy or inheritance and the school aims to be a source of immense pride to the community, passing on Jewish values as a living inheritance to our children. The school will play a critical part in ensuring the continuity of Jewish life in London and the UK.
